The Little Prince - written and illustrated by The on-line Art Project for Children "WOW! What an Amazing World!" is dedicated to art and peace education as well as friendship between children worldwide. The project is for all children, disabled or not disabled, regardless of their race or religion, their language or culture, and no matter where they are at the moment: at schools or camps, hospitals or health rehabilitation centers, orphanages or jails. MethodsTo hold annual two-stage project events:
Children can exhibit their artworks in Origami technique, showing their visions of the world as well as the diversity and magnificence of our life on Earth as a place full of love and peace. Children can express this amazing world through their creativity and imagination with Origami, the beautiful World Peace art of paper folding, and showing their artworks to their friends around the globe. The Leaders of the WowWaw! hope to find people who will support the idea of the "Origami Olympic and Paralympics Games" that are an event for non-disabled children and for children with physical, mental and sensorical disabilities. Children will be using different paper models (airplanes, boats and so on) for their tournaments at the Games. Dates and places of the Games will be announced later. EligibilityAny student (age from 5 to 16) may submit his/her artwork for the WowWaw project site's online gallery and take part in the Children Origami Festival "Origami Olympic and Paralympics Games". SubjectThe central theme for the Online Origami artwork championship in 2008 is Nature. The central theme goal of the championship is to build a new generation of children who live in harmony with nature. The children bring more nature into their own hearts by folding different paper models of animals. By means of the art of origami we guide the children to become the custodians of our planet's nature and save the world. Children are invited to fold any good animal model with a square of paper, make a picture of the artwork and send it per email to WowWaw-2008. Submissions of artwork are to be made to the project email addresses: iap@iap-peacetree org, cc: gerwin@iap-peacetree.orgGalleryPictures of the children's artworks will be displayed on the project site in the WowWaw-2008 Gallery. Submission InstructionsAny young folders may submit one good picture of their origami artwork and one good picture of themselves during a folding session. Children from all over the world can enjoy the artworks at any time on the WowWaw website. All submissions become property of the IAP "Peace Tree". The pictures may be used in exhibitions, for promotional material and for non-profit activities. It is assumed that the artists understand these conditions. Submission of artwork implies acceptance of these terms. Please write in English:
Please provide the pictures in the best quality you have available, in printable quality. The size of one picture should not be more 1 MB. The International Colobok Jury 2008 will choose the best Origami artwork picture of 2008. The Certificate of Merit and the prize for the best picture of the Origami artwork 2008 will be sent to the prize-winner by the end of 2008.
